Internal Medicine & Nephrology
Dr. Afia Umber has joined our esteemed team as of September 2017. She will be attending to patients at our Bishop and Dallas Transplant Institute locations. Earning her medical degree from Dow Medical University in Pakistan in 1998, Dr. Umber pursued further studies in the U.S. She finished her internal medicine residency at Alameda County Medical Center in 2008 and went on to complete her nephrology fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in 2011. Her expertise was further enriched with a transplant fellowship at Tulane University in 2013. She holds board certifications in both internal medicine and nephrology. As an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and American Society of Transplantation, Dr. Umber brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Notably, she is fluent in English, Hindi, Arabic, and Urdu.
